Our farm is well underway! We planted beans and corn earlier this year. The corn is doing well, and we already have a harvest of beans drying!
The sweet potatoes just went in last week. We planted over 1000 hips with the help of some local families in Namalemba.
We're blessed to have a large plot of fertile land. We know this food will bless Daystar kids and our local community. Bananas and cassava are next!
In other news, construction on the chicken house has also begun! The poultry farm will be one of our primary sources of income, so we're eager to get it up and running. So far, we've cleared the land, laid the foundation, and begun constructing the walls. The chicken house will include a room for a caretaker, as well as space to store chicken feed.
The woman carrying the yellow jug lost her husband last month. We've been able to hire her to bring water to the construction site as she looks for ways to support her family. Please pray for her during this difficult transition.
We currently have enough building supplies to create the outline of the chicken house. About $500 more dollars will help us build up to roof level. We trust the Lord will provide. If you would like to contribute, please check out these ways to Get Involved.
Chickens coming soon!

May the Lord reward you all dear donors for every giving. May your seed of love to Daystar community be multiplied in Jesus mighty name.
Great ideas! Starting such projects will bring about sustainability. This will also be handy in helping the children acquire life skills. Chores like feeding birds or picking eggs looks simple but great to learn while still a child.
Wow! I love the way the Lord is doing it steadily. The vision is unfolding slowly. All I can I say is thank you Lord. Thank you so much for all your donations. You can surely see what your seed and donations is doing. God bless you all for making Namalemba community smile.
Wow, a very great initiative. May the good Lord continue using you
